At an open event at the Mauritius Cafe in The Artworks, London, on 18th July, three panels were on display from a larger exhibition which aims to offer visitors an opportunity to understand the whys and wherefores of sugar cane labour in the colonial period, through slavery and indenture, to evoke the perspectives and daily lives of workers through documents, photographs and contemporary art works.

Park View Art & Design department are delighted to present an interim exhibition of Year 10 GCSE work at Lordship Hub Co-op. The exhibition is a celebration of the range of skills and techniques explored by students, loosely concerning the theme ‘identity’ at the mid-point of the GCSE course.

On 18th June 2017 Professor Crispin Bates presented some of the findings of the 'Becoming Coolies' project research in his lecture on ‘Global History, the Myths of Identity and Colonial Labour Migration in the Indian Ocean’ at the 20th Anniversary Symposium of the Institute for the Study of Global Issues, Hitotsubashi University, Japan.
