On 7th December 2016 Professor Crispin Bates, lead investigator of the 'Becoming Coolies' project, presented a seminar on ‘The South Asian Labour Diaspora In The Colonial Era: Networks, Trust And Intermediaries’ in the School of Social Sciences at Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo.
